Acceptable Use Policy
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs how the services on cyfare.net — including all APIs, vulnerability and exploit databases, malware scanning tools, free tools, upload facilities and the S32 platform — may and may not be used. It forms part of the Terms & Conditions. All services are provided exclusively for lawful, defensive, research and authorized security purposes.
1. Permitted Use
- Defensive security operations: detection, prevention, threat hunting, incident response and hardening;
- Security research, education, journalism and vulnerability assessment on systems you own or are expressly authorized in writing to test;
- Integration of API data into defensive products, dashboards and SOC/SIEM workflows within your subscription limits;
- Use of S32 strictly as permitted by the S32 Restricted Platform Terms.
2. Prohibited Conduct
You must not use the Platform to:
- gain, attempt or facilitate unauthorized access to any computer resource, network, account or data, contrary to Section 43 or Section 66 of the Information Technology Act, 2000 or any other law;
- develop, deploy, distribute or operationalize malware, exploits or attacks against any third party; information in the exploit/vulnerability databases is for defensive validation and research only;
- scan, probe or test any system without the owner's prior written authorization;
- violate the privacy, dignity or rights of any person, including stalking, doxxing, harassment or unlawful surveillance;
- upload content that is unlawful, defamatory, obscene, infringing, or prohibited under the IT Act, 2000, the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, or other applicable law;
- circumvent rate limits, access controls, authentication or technical protection measures of the Platform;
- resell, sublicense, scrape at scale, or redistribute Platform data beyond the scope of your licence;
- misrepresent your identity, affiliation or authority — including any false claim of law-enforcement status, which constitutes an offence under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 and will be reported;
- use the Platform in any manner that could damage, disable, overburden or impair it, or interfere with any other user's use.
3. Uploaded Files & API Queries
You represent that you have the right to submit every file, hash, indicator or query you send to the Platform, and that doing so does not violate any law or third-party right. Do not upload personal data of third parties except as strictly necessary for an authorized defensive purpose.
4. Monitoring & Enforcement
We log usage for security and abuse prevention. We may investigate suspected violations, suspend or terminate access without notice, remove content, preserve and disclose records where required by law, and report unlawful activity — including impersonation of law enforcement — to the appropriate authorities, in accordance with the IT Act, 2000 and the IT (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021.
5. Reporting Abuse
To report abuse, misuse, or content requiring takedown, contact legal@cyfare.net. Takedown requests supported by a lawful order are actioned within the timelines prescribed by the IT Rules, 2021.
Violation of this AUP may result in immediate termination and civil or criminal liability under applicable Indian law.
